Great Books for Startup Businesses
/I had a great summer reading some terrific books. I set a goal in May to read a book a week and I am proud to say I accomplished that. Here is a list of a few of the books I wish I could share with you.
Grit - Angela Duckworth
A terrific read about gritty people, who is gritty and who isn't gritty, and how to raise gritty kids. This was hand down my favorite read of the summer. Angela does a great job articulating her research. She walks you through how grit is what it takes to be a standout in any field
Kingpin - Kevin Poulsen
This is a great true crime read about the infamous cyber-thief Max Butler a.k.a. Iceman and how he became one of the largest credit card chiefs in history. Very fast and enjoyable. Kevin does a great job writing this and keeps the pace moving. Any business accepting credit cars should read this and realize how much risk they have.
The Founders Mentality - Chris Zook & James Allen
A well researched and interesting view into issues of growth all companies face. We all read books about how to achieve success, this book dives into what happens when you are on the roller coaster.
Intentional Living - John C. Maxwell
I must have missed this one when it came out in 2015. I wish I hadn't. This book goes into living a life with purpose and gives actionable suggestions on how you can add value to other people.
